Building a Citywide Community of Authentic Student Disciple-Makers.
We are one family on multiple campuses across the city of Chicago. Each campus has its own small group communities, but every Friday we all come together for our citywide worship gathering, Thermostat. These gatherings are informal, infused with music and interaction, and cover topics from relationships to the nature of truth. We create opportunities for students to meet God, each other, and real needs.
Todd & Shawndra Lucas
Todd, a native Chicagoan, launched Chicago XA in the fall of 2010 on one campus (UIC). As Team Leaders, Todd and Shawndra (May '14) oversee the execution of the citywide vision. They recruit and train our citywide staff and student leaders. Their heart is to see students discipled and released into their God-given calling to be disciple-makers. They live on the city’s north side with their son, Ethan.
